Anne Colin

Osteopathic Practitioner
M.Ost, OsteopathyBC, GOsC (UK)

Originally from France, Anne Colin is a dedicated osteopathic practitioner in North Vancouver. She studied full-time for four years at the European School of Osteopathy in Maidstone, England. In 2012, she graduated with an integrated Masters degree in Osteopathy (M.Ost) from the University of Greenwich.

Clinical Background & Specialization

Anne then moved to the North of England. There, she spent four years working alongside incredible osteopaths in a busy, pediatric-focused practice. This experience inspired her to pursue advanced training in pediatrics and obstetrics. Additionally, she volunteered for a year at the Osteopathic Centre for Children in London, UK. This wonderful experience allowed her to treat a highly diverse population. She treated patients regardless of their socio-economic backgrounds. She developed advanced skills in treating babies, children, adolescents, and pregnant or postpartum patients. Anne carried this deep interest into her private practice. She then began treating patients within a specialized children’s clinic.

Advanced Training in England

In England, osteopathy is well-recognized. This environment allowed Anne to access a wide range of patients. She regularly exchanged knowledge with various healthcare professionals to provide the best possible care. Anne has a strong commitment to lifelong learning. She completed postgraduate courses in sports injuries, taping, running, and low back surgeries. She also studied the diagnosis of dementia, naturopathy, positive communication, and yoga.

International Volunteering

Her desire for travel and change led Anne to leave the UK for South America. She spent two years volunteering in various countries. This included solidarity missions with the School of Osteopathy of Montreal (CEO) in Peru. In Peru, she learned about osteopathy in Canada and France by working with international practitioners. She treated patients in pediatric rehabilitation clinics alongside local physiotherapists. She also worked in a center for abused women and girls. This exposed her to populations carrying unique histories, traumas, and medical conditions. Independently, Anne provided osteopathic care within local hospitals and non-profit organizations in Chile, Bolivia, and Colombia.

Relocating to Canada

Anne moved to Canada after meeting various Canadian osteopathic practitioners abroad. She finds it exciting to discover a new country and learn from regional differences. She continues to expand her skills with advanced courses. These include the Biodynamic phases by Dr. Jim Jealous and Anatomy Trains by Tom Myers.

Her Treatment Philosophy

Anne believes that osteopathy supports the body’s natural self-healing and self-regulating mechanisms. This approach can effectively guide you back to optimal health. Anne aims to understand the root causes and contributing factors of your health concerns. She considers your entire body as a whole during every examination and treatment. This allows her to provide an individually tailored treatment plan. She also likes to include home exercises and lifestyle advice.

Gentle Techniques for All Ages

Anne employs a wide variety of gentle techniques. Her approach includes joint articulation, soft-tissue massage, muscle energy, and visceral techniques. She also utilizes detailed fascial work. Anne has a special interest in the cranio-sacral system. She uses the core principles of osteopathy in the cranial field. This gentle method allows her to safely treat everyone from infants to elderly patients.

Professional Registrations

Anne is registered with the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC), the regulatory body in the United Kingdom. She is also a member of OsteopathyBC in Canada. Her personal interests outside the clinic include yoga, hiking, skiing, surfing, and travelling.
